Hooghly Engineering & Technology College (HETC) was established in the year 2004, Hooghly Engineering and Technology College (HETC) is a government aided engineering college run by the Hooghly Engineering & Technology College Society, a non-profit organization engaged in the promotion of technical education among students and the dissemination of scientific knowledge in society, covering a land of 10.378 acres with a simple vision - To facilitate creating innovative, professionally competent and research oriented future engineers who would be able to face the challenges of cutting edge technologies and thereby forming a prosperous and sustainable global society. HETC is an ISO 9001:2008; ISO 14001:2004; OHSAS 18001:2007 certified degree engineering college, affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT) Kolkata and recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC). The college follows a unique pedagogy to ensure its students in having the opportunity of face the rigors of ever-changing demands of real-world situations. It is again supplemented by on-going and regular interaction with business and industry leaders, providing the students a practical platform to assess and experience the application and effective results of what is taught as concepts in

heir classrooms. HETC is in Pipulpati of Hooghly district in West Bengal, India. It is 1.8 kilometres from the Hooghly Railway Station. The campus is connected through Wi-Fi. The college consists of an academic and administrative building, a library and a vast area of open land. Hooghly Engineering and Technology College offers undergraduate programs in engineering disciplines. The college offers B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. Admission to the B.Tech courses is on the basis of the position secured by the candidate in the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination and All India Engineering Entrance Examination. Diploma holders in any engineering and technical discipline can enter for a degree course in the second year at HETC, through the admission test jelet conducted by Central Selection Committee (CSC). The faculty members are experts at integrating knowledge with competitive insights and practical applications. Their experience is drawn from superior academic backgrounds and their industry experience with a wide variety of organizations. The diversity of our faculty and the supportive teaching-learning environment results into a unique, valuable and powerful learning experience. Besides a team of full-time dedicated qualified faculty members in the relevant branches of engineering, the other assets of the college include a well developed central library, a sprawling workshop complex, a state-of-the-art English Communication Skill Development Laboratory and several well developed Computer, Electronics, Electrical, Civil and Mechanical laboratories. The Training & Placement Cell of this college, with its qualified and dedicated officials, provides appreciable placement assistance along with arrangement of adequate in-house and external industrial training which help students to excel in their on and off campus interviews. The training and placement cell arranges vocational training and placement for students at organizations like L&T, VECC, Air India, Doordarshan, BSNL, DRDO, WBPDCL, WBSEDCL, Eastern Railways (India), NTPC, DVC, CLW, Simplex, Bridge & Roof, KMDA, Shapoorji Pallonji Group, Gannon Dunkerley & Company., ENGINEERING WORKS,WEST BENGAL STATE COUNCIL OF SCHOOL EDUCATION,IBM & GATE.
